MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — United Way of Mesa County will host its inaugural Day of Action on June 4.
Day of Action is a community-wide initiative to connect community members with volunteer projects benefitting nonprofits and other local organizations.
Officials say Day of Action is a chance for the community to come together and help local organizations finish projects they may not have been able to otherwise; it also provides a one-time volunteer opportunity to those who find it difficult to do so regularly.
"This event provides a wonderful way to give back that accommodates busy schedules," says Keira Auld, community impact manager for United Way of Mesa County.
Day of Action will go from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but each volunteer opportunity has its own time frame.
Anyone interested in volunteering can learn more and register on the Day of Action website. Volunteer registration closes May 27.
