MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — Mesa County Public Health sent out an alert Friday about a recall involving Diamond Shruumz products after several reports of illness from consumers.
The FDA found these products contain toxic levels of muscimol, a chemical found in certain mushrooms. According to them, there appears to be a link between the chemical and reports of illness among those who consumed the products. Reported symptoms include seizures, abnormal heart rates and loss of consciousness, among others. Including cases in Colorado, there have been 39 reports of illness to date.
Recalled products include Diamond Shruumz mushroom-infused chocolate bars, gummies and cones. All lots, best buy dates, flavors and strengths are included in this recall.
Customers who've purchased these products are urged to stop using them and destroy them; you can contact Prophet Premium Blends at 209-314-0881 or info@diamondshruumz.com for a refund.
