GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Mesa County Sheriff's office carried out an online sex sting that resulted in 6 arrests. One of the arrested men appeared in court on Friday.
45-year-old Phillip Holt was charged with internet sexual exploitation of a child. He appeared in a Mesa County courtroom on Friday for a bond arrangement.
Holt's lawyer asked for the cash bond to be reduced from $50,000 to around $1,500. His lawyer also requested a PR bond for an open case he has for trespassing.
The defense stated that although Holt has ties to the community, his record of 15 failures to appear, with 12 of those occurring in the last 5 years, makes him unreliable, increasing his flight risk.
Holt will appear back in court in July.
