GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Independence Day celebrations are a great time to hangout with friends and family.
Several city officials told WesternSlopeNow what residents in Grand Junction, Delta and Montrose can expect for Fourth of July celebrations.
Grand Junction celebrations kick off at 10 a.m., Thursday, with a parade. The parade starts at 9th Avenue and Main Street and travels toward 3rd Avenue and Main Street. Expect to see classic cars, marching band and a foam party for kids.
Festivities kick off at 8 a.m. in Montrose with a pancake breakfast, then at 10 a.m. is the start of the parade.
The beer garden starts at 3 p.m. and the Miss Independence contest starts at 5 p.m. with fireworks at dusk.
The City of Delta will have its parade at 10 a.m. with the Hot Air Ballon Festival kicking off by evening. Delta's Community Engagement Manager Whitnee Lear has this advice if you plan to head their way.
"Bring chairs to be able to enjoy... lots of water... we'll have beer and wine and there will be tons of food trucks so come hungry."
