GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — During the five-hour surge operation that was conducted last Friday, a total of 88 motorists were stopped.
The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) reported that during this operation, one impaired driver was arrested for driving with a blood alcohol content more than four times the legal limit.
Additionally, another motorist was cited for driving 70 mph in a posted 45 mph zone.
The good news is, there were no crashes in the surge operation zone during this time. Law enforcement officials remind us that all highway users should share the road and provide at least three feet of space when passing bicyclists and pedestrians.
