MONTROSE COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) -- A longtime Montrose County employee will now take on the manager position.
Emily Sanchez, the county's current assistant county manager, was announced Wednesday as the interim county manager. She fills in for Jon Waschbusch who resigned last month.
The county is seeking someone to fill the role permanently. The county posted the job Wednesday on its website. The posting will close on Aug. 14.
The board of county commissioners approved an external search for county manager after public input and work session discussions.
According to a Montrose County press release, "the board of county commissioners remains committed to finding a qualified individual to fill the county manager position. This extended search will allow them to identify the best possible candidate for the role."
