GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - Summer classes are still a thing. Well it so happens that Mesa County just graduated 28 participants who were learning about the county government.
Community members participated in an eight-week course to learn about the government and learned how it worked from a local aspect to the national level. The class also gave an inside look on how each department plays an important part.
Mesa County Commissioner Bobbie Daniel states, “I think it's really important that in local government, we're opening up the doors to make sure that our residents understand just the value of civic engagement and what value that they hold. It gives people those educational tools to be able to advocate for things that they really truly care about.”
From public health to public records, residents learned about how the system works and bring the community together. To learn more about this class, visit mesacounty.us.
