GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - Back to school is right around the corner. If your child is still in need of their back-to-school vaccines. The Mesa County Public Health has something for you and your child.
The Mesa County Public Health is hosting its Back-to-School Vaccine Clinic on August 10th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the public health clinic at 510 29 ½ Road in Grand Junction. The clinic will be offering vaccines for chicken pox, TB, measles, mumps, rubella and COVID-19. The goal is to keep children in school safe as much as possible.
Allison Sanchez, Mesa County Public Health clinic director, says, “We like to make sure that kids are vaccinated before they go back to school because they are in close quarters. Things can spread quickly from one child to another. So making sure we take precautions to keep kids safe through the school year is one of our priorities here at Mesa County Public Health."
Residents getting the vaccines for their children will need to set an appointment. The clinic will see anyone regardless of insurance status. The clinic has programs that will help those without insurance to keep costs down. For more information, visit health.mesacounty.us or call 970-248-6900 and schedule an appointment over the phone.
