Mesa County Coroner's Office releases Identity of those killed in fatal car crash

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — On Wednesday, a fatal accident occurred off Highway 6, near mile marker 40. Resulting in the loss of three lives from the Grand Valley community. This tragic event has left a significant void felt by all.

On Thursday afternoon, The Mesa County Coroner's Office has released the identities of the three individuals. The passenger of the Jeep Grand Cherokee was identified as 67-year-old Kathi Wallace, who was the wife of the driver.

The two Colorado Department of Transportation workers were identified as 43-year-old Trent Umberger and 23-year-old Nathaniel Jones.

To honor the lives lost in this tragedy, the community will be organizing a cruise. If you would like to participate, please meet out front of the old Gay Johnsons building at 8 p.m. Located off of 1st & Grand Ave.
