Police officers looking for church vandal who caused over $2K in damages

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - Crime Stoppers of Mesa County is asking the community to help law enforcement identify a man who allegedly caused damages to a local church.

Crime Stoppers said in a press release the incident occurred between 9 p.m., Aug. 25, to 4:50 a.m., Aug. 26, when an unknown individual supposedly "unlawfully entered" the property of Heritage Church, 2403 N. 12th St. in Grand Junction.

Security cameras captured the man allegedly damaging several light fixtures on the building and removing a doorbell camera off the wall. The total damage and property loss is over $2,200, according to Crime Stoppers.

The man, who is White, was seen wearing a black Air Jordan jersey with dark pants and brown shoes.

Anyone who knows the suspects can submit a tip on the P3tips app, at 241stop.com or call 970-241-7867.

Folks can get up to a $1,000 reward for any information reported to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest. The individual will remain anonymous.
