FRUITA, Colo. (KREX) - The Fruita Community Center will be closed next week for annual maintenance, according to the City of Fruita.
The facility will be closed from Monday, Sept. 23, to Sunday, Sept. 29. The indoor pool will be closed one additional day before reopening on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The extra day is for installing a new waterslide, according to the city.
The facility closes yearly so it can be deep cleaned, repaired and upgraded, the city said in the press release.
The staff will use this year to refine the wood floors on the basketball courts, fitness studio and meeting rooms. The walls will be repaired and painted while all windows will be professionally cleaned. Additionally, the fitness equipment will be inspected for any needed maintenance.
The Fruita branch of the Mesa County Library - located inside the Fruita Community Center - will stay open during its normal hours.
