DENVER (KDVR) — While summer-like weather is still in the Denver forecast, one popular winter train ride just announced its return.

The Polar Express Train Ride is headed to the North Pole on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. The ride is an ode to the childhood book and movie "The Polar Express."

The train ride runs through the winter when passengers, many in pajamas, board the train that takes them to the North Pole. On the 65-minute ride, guests can listen to book readings and see dancing chefs serve hot chocolate and cookies.

At the North Pole, there is a light show before the train makes its way back home. On the way back, there's a visit from Santa and his elves, and each passenger will get their first gift of Christmas.

It might not feel like winter yet, but the train ride is already preparing for another season, which begins on Friday, Nov. 22, through Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025.

Tickets are on sale now and adult prices range from $39-93, while children’s tickets range from $29-83 depending on the train, service and date.
