GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — An all-volunteer group of retired and active nurses has teamed up to provide services to fellow nurses, CNAs, and doctors who have passed.
The Grand Valley Nurse Honor Guard has provided several services in the Grand Valley since its inception in 2021.
Co-founder Carolyn Rasmussen talked with WesternSlopeNow about their service and what they do to honor the fallen.
"...We do a nurses prayer, it's a very non-denominational prayer... Then we do a nightingale tribute and at the end of that tribute we do a final roll-call for that nurse and then the candle is extinguished and then we release them from their earthly duties."
