GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - The woman accused of murdering her partner and mutilating his genitalia will appear in court on Friday.
Shenting Guo, 32, is charged with the second-degree murder of 38-year-old Dustin Nalls, as well as domestic violence. The incident originally occurred on May 14 at WoodSpring Suites, 659 Market St. in Grand Junction.
According to the arrest affidavit, Guo called the Grand Junction Police Department, saying she believed her boyfriend was dead. When officers arrived on the scene, they allegedly found the room's bed covered in a large amount of blood.
Officers and emergency medical service personnel found Nalls unresponsive before giving him CPR but ultimately declared him dead on the scene. They noticed a stab wound in his left leg but couldn't determine if it was recent. They also discovered the man's penis appeared to be cut off, according to the affidavit.
Officers later found Nalls' severed penis in the bathroom trash. Guo allegedly told law enforcement she cut it off to see if he would wake up - he did not respond.
Guo reportedly told officers they should "arrest her now" before describing the incident. She and Nalls got into an argument with Guo wanting to sleep but he wouldn't allow it, the affidavit alleges.
She then allegedly said, "If you don't let me sleep, I'm going to stab you." She said she stabbed Nalls that morning.
Guo was taken into custody where she spoke to law enforcement after waiving her right to an attorney.
She said the argument reportedly stemmed from believing she was pregnant again. Nalls questioned whether the child was his. Guo said his questioning made her "so angry" that she stabbed him in the leg with a knife from the counter, according to the affidavit.
Guo said Nalls was lying down in bed when she stabbed him. She reportedly thought he wasn't in pain, so she went to City Market to buy dressing but forgot to purchase bandages. She did buy antibiotics, rubbing alcohol and beer.
She allegedly returned to the apartment where she applied rubbing alcohol and believed Nalls didn't have any pain. Later in the day, Nalls reportedly told her he was cold, and that he might die.
Guo said she gave Nalls water, ibuprofen and "greens," but his eyes went "dull," according to the affidavit. After speaking with her parents, her mother told her to call the police.
Guo and Nalls were in a relationship for five years with them sharing a 3-year-old child together, the affidavit said.
Guo has a criminal history. She was booked on two separate incidents both in South Dakota in 2019. She was first charged aggravated domestic assault with a deadly weapon and later that year she was booked on simple assault. The former charges were dismissed while Guo pleaded guilty to the latter.
She is currently at the Mesa County Detention Center on a $1,000,000 bond.
