GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — With less than two weeks before the election, the two candidates vying for Colorado's 3rd congressional district held events Wednesday, making their final push before election night Nov. 3.

During a Zoom meeting, Democratic candidate Adam Frisch focused much of his time on rebuilding the loss of trust he says has existed between Western Slope residents and their representatives in Washington, D.C.

"Our current representative happen to get a $20,000 tax bill for her small business and the next thing you know she turned in a $20,000 reimbursement for all of these miles that she's traveled, and no one could find a single public announcement of her doing any of this traveling, and that case has been sitting there for years."

Also holding an event Wednesday was Republican candidate Jeff Hurd.

Hurd talked with WesternSlopeNow outside of the Mesa County Republican Party Headquarters about why he thinks he would be the best representative for CD-3 in Congress.

"You have two choices. You have someone who lives in Aspen and you have somebody who is a homegrown candidate here from Western Colorado."

Hurd says he is feeling confident going into Election Day but that he will continue to work for your vote.

"I'm comfortable with where I am but I'm not going to take anything for granted. I'm going to work as hard as I can to finish strong and to make sure that we do everything we can to turn out every single last vote here in Western Colorado and also in Southern Colorado."
