MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - One day after Mesa County Public Health announced a recall of gyro kit meals, MCPH said Wednesday there is an additional recall involving the same type of food.

Gyro family kits - distributed nationwide at Sprouts stores - are being recalled because of possible salmonella contamination. Public health said residents should check their refrigerators for these products and throw them away.

The kits contain cucumbers in the tzatziki sauce that are part of the recall due to potentially being contaminated with salmonella.

According to public health, the description of recalled products is as follows:

  • Gyro Family Kit labeled with UPC 20594800000.
  • They have a use-by date of 12/29/24-01/07/25.
  • They are packaged in plastic trays with clear, plastic lids.

On Tuesday, MCPH announced a recall involving gyro sandwich express meal kits from Fresh Creative Foods sold to Sam's Club stores nationwide.
