MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - The Mesa County Coroner's Office announced it has completed its investigation into Thursday's fatal car crash.
The coroner's office said Grand Junction resident Dario Urrutia, 44, was a single unrestrained occupant of his vehicle when his car and another collided near Interstate 70 Business Loop and 28 Road.
The cause of death is due to injuries sustained in the crash. The manner of death is an accident, according to the Mesa County Coroner's Office.
The Grand Junction Police Department reported Urrutia was driving a Volkswagen Bug when he struck a pickup truck while it was turning eastbound onto I70B from the frontage road near 28 Road.
The road was closed for several hours as first responders stayed on the scene. The Grand Junction Fire Department also responded to the crash.
GJPD is continuing its investigation into the collision.
