MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - School District 51 set a record Thursday morning after data from the Colorado Department of Education was released.
For the second-straight year, D51 set a district-high graduation rate of 83%, taking over last year's record of 81.2%.
"This outstanding milestone showcases the dedication and resilience of D51 staff and students, who continue to excel despite the challenges of an ever-changing educational landscape," the school district said in a news release.
D51 also noted it now has a 1.8% dropout rate which is lower than the state average.
“This milestone is a tremendous accomplishment for our schools, students and community. Even more inspiring are the significant gains seen across many of our student groups," Superintendent Brian Hill said in the release. "These results highlight the dedication of our students, staff and families, as well as our continued commitment to closing academic gaps and ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed. This progress demonstrates the power of staying laser-focused on the goals within our strategic plan and working together to support our kids.”
