GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Playing a round of golf at your favorite Grand Junction golf course will now be a little bit more expensive.

Public rates at Tiara Rado's 18-hole course for a weekday have gone up from $46-$50 and Lincoln Park's nine-hole course from $11-$12.

The birdie and eagle pass both saw an increase in price of $100. The birdie pass increasing from $400 to $500 and the eagle pass increasing from $700 to $800.

"The enterprise has to sustain itself with the fees that it generates, not with taxpayer dollars," said General Services Director for the City of Grand Junction Jay Valentine.

Valentine talked to WesternSlopeNow about the feedback following the rise in fees.

"I've heard some feedback. We haven't raised fees for passes in over four years. That might be part of the problem, all of the sudden we raise them and there's kind of a shock factor that it's been consistent for so long."

The prices have been updated on the course websites. Their links are listed below.
