MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - A woman was arrested early Monday who, according to authorities, has a history of eluding law enforcement.
Mesa County Sheriff's deputies attempted to contact the suspect, 24-year-old Bridgett Fawcett, but she allegedly fled law enforcement.
Deputies surrounded the neighborhoods near 31 Road between E 1/2 and F roads before finding the car abandoned in front of an address in the 3000 block of Cedar Drive.
Shortly after, law enforcement witnessed a vehicle driving in the neighborhood without headlights. Deputies completed a traffic stop and the female driver allegedly gave a fake name and couldn't identify the name of the vehicle's registered owner.
Deputies went to the address Fawcett said where her family lived. The resident at that home said the vehicle must have been stolen and no one had permission to drive it.
Authorities later discovered Fawcett allegedly entered the home on Cedar Drive through an unlocked back door, stealing items from the house before driving off in the car.
Fawcett was detained and correctly identified. She has an active arrest warrant.
