GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - A man who was reportedly involved in an altercation early Sunday morning was found dead later the same day.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department, around 3:40 a.m. officers and detectives responded to a report of a man lying on the sidewalk near the 30 Road underpass off of Interstate 70B.
Officers discovered the man had allegedly been involved in an altercation earlier at Lux Ultra Lounge, 2993 North Ave. After the incident, the individual reportedly fled the scene. He then climbed a fence and fell onto the ground below, the police department said.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities do not suspect foul play and alcohol was a contributing factor, GJPD said.
The Mesa County Coroner's Office will release the man's identity after notifying his next of kin.
The police department said it is investigating the scene and believes this was an isolated incident.
