GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible homicide after deputies found "possible human remains" in a home on the 2900 block of Pinyon Avenue.
Deputies with the Sheriff's Office responded to a suspicious incident Friday afternoon. The department said in a press release "persons at the address cleaning out the recently sold property discovered human remains at the residence."
The incident is currently being investigated as a homicide. The Mesa County Coroner's Office will identify the remains and determine the official cause of death.
The investigation is currently underway and there is no information available at this time. Officials believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
