GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — William Charles Heaney, a Medicaid transportation driver who's been in the business for more than 3 years is speaking out.
Heaney has been unpaid since November of 2023.
The Colorado Office of Healthcare Policy and Financing conducted a state-wide audit of all non-emergency medical transportation. Roaring Fork Transportation (where Heaney works) was a part of the audit. They passed.
Grant money from the state has been withheld from the company since the end of that audit.
Colorado Office of Healthcare and Financing public information officer Marc Williams returned station calls saying that a full-scale investigation into a fraud scheme is taking place.
Heaney is calling on the Colorado Office of Healthcare Policy and Financing to pay the companies.
