GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Food Bank of the Rockies plays a pivotal role in the lives of many in Western Colorado, delivering perishable and non-perishable food to 13 counties.
To make those deliveries the food bank relies on refrigerated trucks.
Director of Food Bank of the Rockies Sue Ellen Rodwick talked with WesternSlopeNow about how a recent grant they received helped replace an old trailer.
"We had an aging trailer that really … it was really tough for it to be a primary trailer. That we were using."
The grant, awarded by the Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation gave the Food Bank the chance to purchase a new 53-foot trailer that joins one other 53-foot trailer, a 40-foot trailer, and two box trucks.
