GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Multiple agencies were involved in the arrest of 40-year-old Scott Lorman who was taken into custody, accused of stabbing and violently assaulting both his mother and her husband.
Mesa County Sheriff's Office got two calls from separate locations at about 10 p.m. Thursday night.
The first call was made by a gas station clerk at 3223 F Road, about a male seeking help who looked as if he had been violently assaulted and stabbed.
Just minutes later, a second call came in from a resident on the 600 block of Country Court. The resident said a female had appeared at their home seeking help.
Both calls were from Lorman's mother and her husband.
According to a Mesa County Sheriff's Office press release, Lorman had forced both victims from their home on the 600 block of Saddle Rock Drive and into their car.
Lorman then proceeded to drive away.
While on the road both victims were able to escape the car at different points to seek help.
Lorman continued driving all the way to Delta County where the vehicle crashed.
Following the crash, Lorman called Delta County dispatch. Once authorities arrived on the scene, Lorman was recognized and detained.
Delta authorities then alerted Mesa County officials and Lorman was taken to the Mesa County Detention Facility where he is being held on multiple felony counts of assault, kidnapping, robbery and motor vehicle theft, among other charges.
Both victims are currently recovering from serious injuries.
This incident is under investigation.
