CLIFTON, Colo. (KREX) - The Grand Junction Fire Department announced new details on Monday regarding Friday's fire in Clifton.

The fire department said in a press release an RV and two Conex storage containers were destroyed in the fire on the 3100 block of Perkins Drive. It sounded like the damage could have been worse as crews contained the fire away from the surrounding storage area and nearby homes.

GJFD said the blaze was because of a cutting torch. The fire then quickly spread from there.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.

The GJFD originally responded to the call around 5 p.m., Friday, as it provided mutual aid to the Clifton Fire Department.
