GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — With the month of September wrapping up, that means the end of Workforce Development Month.

Created in 2005, Workforce Devlopment Month is a chance for jobseekers to find work.

Mesa County's Workforce Development Center held an open house Wednesday, to highlight the many services the Workforce Center has to offer.

"Individuals can come and work on their resumes, can work on cover letters, actually do job searching and meet with employment specialists," said Mesa County Workforce Center Director Heather Nara.

Nara also talked about other services offered, including assessments jobseekers can take to help further build their resume.

"(It's) to be able to show many of the skills that are sometimes hard to put down on paper. We actually have assessments to be able to show those results."

A recent graduate of Colorado Mesa University and jobseeker Tafa Bochmann came to the open house to take assessments to build his resume. Bochmann had this to say to any employers looking for someone with his skill set.

"I'm fresh out of college, but I've got a lot of work experience under my belt. I feel like I've got a lot of give to people and more important than anything, I think I have the right attitude and the compassion and the flexibility needed to be an asset to any employer, business, or organization that may need me."
