GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - Bob Stansell, a longtime Boston’s Restaurant and Sports Bar customer, states. “It's like a second home, and it's one of the first places that I went to when we moved here.”

A place of history...

Stansell states, “I get a little emotional thinking about it, but it's just great seeing it open again.”

And a place of happiness.

Emma Christensen, server and bartender at Boston’s, states, “It makes my heart really happy to know that we have that kind of community here.”

Boston's Restaurant and Sports Bar is opening its doors on Friday for the first time since the building suffered from an electrical fire back in August.

“The night that it happened, we were driving by, and I, you know, my wife and I just said, ''Oh, my god, there's a fire at Boston's,” Stansell said.

The question on the table after the fire? How to move forward?

Brandon Cramer, general manager of Boston's, states, “Just really kind of an unsure to how we're going to take care of our people and how long we're going to be closed and what are our regulars we're going to going to do in the meantime and the timeframe.”

Cramer tells WesternSlopeNow with the fire on the marquee sign, the building also suffered water damage coming from the suppression system and the fire hoses.

When it came time to open its doors at 11 a.m. on Friday, seats filled up one by one and smiles formed on people's faces.

“Some of these regulars have been coming here since the 90s, since we first opened and that's just really, it's really nice to know that people care about us that much. And we care about them the same,” Christensen said.

Stansell said, “They're like family to everybody here. They treat everybody like family.”
