MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - Some residents will see an increase in their water bill starting as soon as next month.

Ute Water Conservancy District's Board of Directors recently approved a $1 increase to the residential minimum rate. This will go in effect for water delivered starting December and billed beginning Jan. 1, 2025.

Residents, who use Ute Water, will now have a minimum rate of $27 for the first 3,000 gallons of water.

For non-residential district customers, the new monthly rate minimum will increase based on meter size, Ute Water said in a press release.

Also, beginning Jan. 1, new developments will see a $500 increase in tap fees for a 5/8-inch meter which is the most used meter in residential services. The new cost will be $8,500.

According to the release, Ute Water provides water to around 90,000 residents in Mesa Count.

For more information on water rates, contact Andrea Lopez with Ute Water Conservancy District at 970-242-7491 or alopez@utewater.org.
