GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - An 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection to an assault that occurred that morning.
Around 9:15 a.m., the Grand Junction Police Department responded to the area of 26 1/2 and G 3/4 roads. Officers learned that the suspect, Antonio Chick, was allegedly intoxicated and assaulted family members before fleeing the scene.
There were no injuries, and weapons involved, according to GJPD.
Officers later located Chick around 29 1/4 Road and Orchard Avenue about 1:15 p.m. He was taken into custody without incident.
Chick was remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility. He's charged with third-degree assault and other charges related to the incident.
Before Chick's arrest, the Grand Junction Police Department previously posted on social media asking for assistance in locating the 18-year-old.
GJPD said in a press release this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing danger to the community.
