Coroner's office identifies man in officer involved shooting

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - The Mesa County Coroner's Office announced its findings in Sunday's officer-involved shooting.

The coroner's office said 46-year-old Aaron Blount died from a gunshot wound in the torso. Blount had lived in various areas in the western U.S. including time in Grand Junction.

The shooting occurred on the 400 block of 28 Road, according to the original press release.

The 21st Judicial Critical Incident Review team is overseeing the ongoing investigation.
