GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Great West Beer Fest was held this Friday at the Grand Junction Convention Center from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in support of Colorado Mesa University programs.

Colorado Mesa University continues to grow and work diligently to make campus a place students belong and become part of the Mavily. Supporting student clubs in their passions and hobbies is a great avenue for creating that belonging. Many Mavs do not come from the area, so it is difficult for them to build a network of donors, so Student life is working to support these groups by offerint this event to the larger community to have fun, drink some beer and listen to music, all while supporting students.

Trey Downey, CMU Director of Student Life

100% of the event profits directly benefit over 120 CMU clubs and organizations. Many local vendors showed up to support the cause including Joe Talbott, co-owner of Talbott's Cider Company:

We always want to support the local college, Colorado Mesa University, and there's always the headlining sponsors, Fisher's Liquor barn, which is one of our great local liquor stores.

Joe Talbott
