OURAY, Colo. (KREX) — The 18-year-old stepson of Police Chief Jeff Wood was scheduled for virtual court Thursday. An upcoming hearing, a status conference, is scheduled for early March.
The two others facing accusations, 18-year-old Ashton Wittington and 20-year-old Gabriel Trujillo will appear in virtual court within the next two weeks.
Chief Wood is currently on paid administrative leave. The alleged rape reportedly happened at his personal residence, while he slept.
Newspapers were stolen off the stands when the Ouray County Plaindealer first broke the story. Investigators have since determined who stole the papers, but have yet to release a name.
